Warm Ups. Part 1
I rely on a combination of licks and runs that are a staple in my guitar playing routine, they serve well to loosen up my fingers and get my right/left hand synchronization in check. Although tone-wise these first examples are not that interesting, they are extremely effective. The simplest of the bunch is a sequential run moving up and down the strings and combines alternate picking with all four fingers. Continue this pattern all the way up to the 12th fret and back down again.

Continuing with the above patter, but in thirds using only your first finger, ring finger and pinky. Speed is not the goal of these exercises. Getting a consistent tempo and a clean sound is what you are looking for.
